Today, we’re chatting with one of our models, Tilly. Tilly is MY mom and she has the coolest Medusa piercing. Her piercing actually inspired me to get a jestrum because I thought it looked so amaze on her.
When we began looking for models for Pierced Owl, my mom had recently gotten her Medusa piercing. Once it healed, we knew we had to get her in the studio to model some of our jewelry. We had so much fun curating a jewelry look for her (we even got her to try some belly rings in her ear) and the pictures came out incred.
We decided to ask Tilly a few questions so you could get to know her better.
When did you get your first piercing?
My first piercing was a navel ring I got on Haight Street in San Francisco in 1988.
What is your favorite piercing?
My favorite piercing is my medusa that I got at Tattoo Royale by my favorite piercer, Jay.
Which of your piercings hurt the most? The least?
My nipple piercings hurt the most because nipples are tender… especially the second one.
What’s your favorite piece of jewelry from your photoshoot with Pierced Owl?
I loved the Threadless Opal Stud that I wore. Threadless jewelry is my fav for my medusa because it’s super easy to take off and on.
What are you currently passionate about?
I’m taking a HeadStart yoga training course so I can teach children in our classrooms yoga as a way to help with trauma.
Who/what is your fashion inspiration at the moment?
My inspo right now is Yayoi Kusama!!! Dots and more dots!
How would you describe your style?
My style has a Mary Tyler Moore vibe.
What’s a unique experience you’ve had?
Stephen King came to my middle school and told us scary stories with the lights off. He was university friends with my teacher.
